Faith Coming To Life For NCA Fifth Graders!
Please take a moment to read a wonderful story about one of our favorite classroom mascots. You will be touched by the story and amazed that our students are exposed to occurrences like this, where prayers are answered and faith comes to life! Here at NCA, we’re all about putting faith into action and trusting that God will supply the needs of us as well as those around us! The following account was given to us by Mrs. Stanley, Fifth grade teacher and owner of Cinders, the Fifth Grade Rabbit!
“Second only to having lockers for the first time, one of the main highlights for our 5th graders is having a classroom rabbit and a gerbil. Cinders is a miniature velveteen (rex) rabbit. He is potty trained and is allowed to hop around the room. He enjoys being near the students, and the students love having him follow them around. This year Cinders developed some health issues. We took him to Mallard Creek Animal Hospital where they told us he would have to have some serious dental work done. The fifth graders prayed daily that his upcoming surgery would be successful. Several students asked if they could bring in a donation to help defray the cost. The idea caught on and in less than a week the students donated $127.10. The surgery ordinarily costs several hundred dollars, but the clinic gave us a large discount since he was a classroom pet. The medication was $50, and we gave the vet $100 dollars for the procedure. The first surgery was performed in February and the second in March. The students saw their prayers answered as the vet was able to clip and file down Cinders’ teeth so he could eat better. The students learned this year that God cares even about our little furry friends.”
What an amazing account of how much God loves not only us, but also His precious creation – and that he provides and sustains for it! Thank God for not only engaged classroom learning, but also engaged learning in the Faith here at NCA!
