ACSI Art Festival

NCA Students Show Artwork at ACSI Festival

 On Friday, March 8, selected students from Northside Christian Academy displayed at an art festival hosted by Back Creek Christian Academy under the auspices of ACSI. The selected artwork was adjudicated and then the ribbons earned were displayed on the day of the festival. When they arrived on Friday morning the students were able to attend various art workshops hosted by local artists. One of the favorite artists to speak about his work was Marcus Hamilton, the man who draws the syndicated “Dennis the Menace” cartoon. Mr. Hamilton’s work appears in over 1,000 newspapers weekly. In sharing his story Mr.Hamilton had a wonderful testimony of God’s work in his life. One of the important principles he shared with students was to learn all you can from everyone you can because nothing you learn is ever wasted. Other workshops included Julie Toffaletti teaching  technique for drawing human hands, and a guided discussion of art and culture by Lydia Frazier.

NCA students’ art pieces were awarded various ribbons according to the scores given by the judges. Following is a list of those whose work was entered and their ribbons. Under the guidance of art teacher, Mrs. Cynthia Brown, these students were a credit to our school.
