Additionally, children who have had some form of preschool before entering kindergarten have better social and behavior-management skills. In this safe, loving environment, children make connections with their peers and sharpen their social skills. Children also learn boundary setting and consequences by interacting with other children and by the loving examples set forth by their teachers.

Planting the Seed, Watching It Grow

In the past, kindergarten was the place to learn numbers, colors and ABCs. That is no longer the case. Today, the majority of children entering school have had some experience with preschool. Most kindergarten teachers expect students to come prepared with a basic knowledge of these academic skills.
