Summer Mission Adventures
Going on mission has been — and always will be — a part of God’s plan for our lives. Jesus called everyday people to “go” and equipped them to personally expand his kingdom. Students who participate in mission trips tend to develop lifestyles of service, sharing their faith with the lost and fulfilling both the Great Commandment (to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind), and the Great Commission (to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit).
In partnership with Northside Baptist Church, we identify areas where people have both physical and spiritual needs. Students have ministered in various cities across the U.S., as well as overseas, experiencing different cultures and maturing in their faith through exciting mission trips.
Summer 2015 Recap: A Trip to Boston
Over this past summer break, a team of 37 from NCA and Northside Baptist Church served as the hands and feet of Jesus throughout the city of Boston. In partnership with Grace Church and Lighthouse Baptist Church, they had the opportunity to complete a variety of projects, sharing the Gospel in a tangible way. Students ministered in the Greater Boston Food Bank, at a nursing home, on campus at Boston Bible College, and with local churches. Horizons were expanded and lives were changed as students explored a new city while serving others.
Trip Opportunities for 2016
This summer will be filled with even more adventure for NCA students. Three exciting opportunities* are available:
- International Mission Trip: Students will travel to Barcelona, Spain, assisting with Christian camps for children in the area. Partnering with Youth for Christ, our students will learn to minister to others in the context of a different culture. June 29-July 12. High school students only.
- Local Missions: This year, we are excited to offer several local outreach opportunities for students to be a light in their own community. From kids camps to construction projects, we will focus on sharing Christ’s love with the city of Charlotte, N.C. Dates TBD. Open to middle and high school students.
- Discipleship Camp: Students can grow in their faith and learn the importance of living missionally at Snowbird Wilderness Outfitters — a camp that offers bold Biblical teaching, Gospel-centered discipleship, and high-impact adventure. July 25-30. Open to middle and high school students.
