Today, technology touches almost every aspect of our lives – from our homes to our places of business. Now that same technology is transforming the way teachers teach and students learn. At Northside Christian Academy, we recognize that integrating the latest technology into classroom instruction means more than merely providing students access to digital teaching tools. iPads

Our 1-to-1 iPad program provides each student with access to an iPad, allowing them to explore, discover and learn both during and beyond the typical school day. Our students use their iPads to take notes, present projects, share and collaborate on classwork and read classroom texts.

Digital Projectors

Digital projectors allow teachers to make learning larger than life! Through the power of the big screen, teachers are able to create a gathering place within their classrooms that’s an ideal space to share students’ work with the entire class. From exploring microbes in a digital microscope to sharing an historical inaugural address, digital projectors are ideal for collaborative learning.

eBooks

Our 1-to-1 iPad integration allows students to learn and explore the world around them through the reading of digital texts and storybooks. An excellent way to promote emergent literacy, eBooks allow our younger readers the opportunity to read and listen to a book while also obtaining support through emergent literacy tools like animations, word pronunciations and more. Intermediate and advanced readers are also provided with the opportunity to read eBooks independently both in and out of the traditional classroom setting.

Apps

From flashcards to foreign languages, there’s an app for that at Northside Christian Academy. With the help of an iPad, our students are provided with countless opportunities to experience hands-on learning through educational applications that look and feel like games. Our teachers even make use of special apps designed to help create lesson plans, grade papers and stay organized.

Interactive Whiteboards

These large, computerized screens allow teachers to share Internet content, present audio and video projects, conduct digital assessments and even record classroom lessons. Through this unique multimedia platform, teachers are even able to create engaging lesson plans that include links from the Internet, short film and song clips and other elements of digital storytelling.
