NCA Choir Group Making National Waves
A couple of weekends ago, eleven students in NCA’s A Cappella Knights traveled to East Tennessee State University to participate in an inaugural event of national recognition. The event, called BucAppella, showcased high school and collegiate a cappella groups from around the country, and was led by clinician Deke Sharon, founder of the hit TV show, The Sing Off, and producer of the Pitch Perfect movie series.
During the event, students were able to observe masterclasses conducted by Deke Sharon, brainstorm ways to improve their own a cappella sound, and view live performances from top a cappella groups in the nation. The event culminated in a combined performance with Deke Sharon that included all of the attending schools. We are so proud of these students for representing NCA at the national level! The A Cappella Knights are led by Director, Mr. Taylor Nelson (’09) and Student Director, Onesti Barnett (’17).
Join us in congratulating this incredible group on this fantastic opportunity! It was such an impactful experience and the students will benefit from this for a long time to come!
