NCA Soccer Teams Earn NSCAA Team Academic Award!
In athletics, it’s highly admired to be successful – the goal to be the best is always at the forefront in the minds of each coach and team. One thing that sets teams apart from the others is something that’s as equally impressive: high academic achievement! This is something that both the men’s and women’s soccer teams at NCA have accomplished. See below to find out just what kind of recognition we’re garnering!
We’re proud to congratulate our 2014-15 Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys Soccer teams for the national recognition they have earned. Both teams have been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for their “exemplary performance in the classroom as a team.” In order to be considered for this award, the team GPA has to be a minimum of 3.25 for the entire year. Our Varsity Girls Soccer Team earned a GPA of 3.51 for the year and the Varsity Boys Soccer Team earned a GPA of 3.56 for the year. There were 395 teams nationally who earned recognition, but Northside Christian Academy is one of only 49 schools to have double honorees with both teams earning this distinction. While consideration is given to both public and private schools, Northside Christian Academy is one of only three schools in the Charlotte area to achieve this status. See this link for the official release!
We can’t tell you just how proud we are of Coach Thompson, the assistant coaches, each team and especially each individual team member who wear the NCA jerseys into battle! This is a true representation of our strong academic ties to athletics in creating true student-athletes! We can’t wait to see what these guys accomplish in the future!
Way to go, Knights!
