NCA Alum Crushes Boston Marathon…Again!
21Apr, 2015
As many of you know, Charlotte is a great ‘runner’s town’ and is full of some quality running talent. Some of that talent goes on to compete at the annual Boston Marathon – and some do this repeatedly. For instance, Billy Shue, of Charlotte (NCA Class of ’02) competed in the Boston Marathon on Monday, April, 20th. Not only has he competed here before, but also, Billy finished 159th overall
(out of several thousand runners) – with a time of 2 hours, 36 minutes, and 1 second, a personal best! According to the Charlotte Observer, Billy was touted as the first runner from Charlotte to cross the finish line yesterday – and at an impressive time!
This is an outstanding accomplishment requiring a huge investment of time and hard work to prepare for an event like this. Billy is a graduate of Wake Forest (undergrad) and UNC Greensboro (master’s) and has served as an auditor in both Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Billy has demonstrated not only a very high aptitude for running, but also academically and financially.
Great job, Billy! We are incredibly proud of you for all of your accomplishments!
I (Coach John Brooks) on behalf of the NCA Alumni Association and NCA Families would like to extend to you a big Congratulations!
