NCA Represented In NCAA Tournament!
24Mar, 2015
With March Madness in full swing, we know that many of you are still following the Men’s NCAA Division I basketball tournament. While the tournament is already very exciting and unpredictable, it may interest you even more to know that there were NCA Alumni playing in the tournament this year! After winning the MEAC Championship, Hampton University played its way into the tournament by beating Manhattan; and later had to face No. 1 Kentucky! Dionte Adams ’12, L.C. Cooks ’12, and Phillip Reed ’13 are members of Hampton’s team. While Kentucky ended Hampton’s tournament dreams, Hampton still fought hard – all the way until the end!
Wofford College also played in the “Big Dance”, narrowly losing to Arkansas. Justin Gordon ’12 played a vital role in Wofford’s successful season, especially in their Southern Conference Championship.
In the men’s Division II tournament, UNC – Pembroke lost in the semi-finals of the Regional. Griffin Pittman ’11 was a senior starter on Pembroke’s team.
We are more than happy to report that these young men, all NCA Grads, are doing well in the classroom as well as on the basketball court! We are proud of these young men for all of their accomplishments, not only this year, but also through the continuation of their hard work and dedication! While we applaud them for their successes, we would also like to note that we love and appreciate all of our alumni!
